Vietnam’s stocks: Vincom, Tuong An Vegetable, National Seed   2009-10-23 - Bloomberg

Vietnam’s benchmark VN-Index, a measure of 179 companies on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange, fell 1.4 percent to 615.68 Friday. Among the index members, 42 advanced, 131 dropped and 6 were unchanged.

 

 

Vincom Joint-Stock Co. (VIC), the country’s second-biggest listed real estate company, rose 4.9 percent to VND85,000. The company said nine-month net income rose 33 percent to VND154.4 billion ($8.65 million) from a year earlier, according to a statement on its website.

Tuong An Vegetable Oil Joint-Stock Co. (TAC), a Vietnamese maker and trader of cooking oil and margarine, dropped 5 percent to VND42,100.

The company had a nine-month loss of VND35 billion after production and marketing costs increased, the company said in a statement on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange’s website. For the July-to-September period, it posted a loss of VND68.65 billion dong.

National Seed Joint-Stock Co. (NSC), which exports products such as rice seeds, rose 4.1 percent to VND50,500. Major shareholder Saigon Securities Inc. has increased its stake in the company to 20 percent from 18.05 percent, according to a statement filed on the exchange’s website.
