Intel Viet Nam has co-operated with the Financing and Promoting Technology Corporation (FPT) to launch a full solution package for web hosting services for small- and medium-sized businesses .

HCM CITY — Intel Viet Nam has co-operated with the Financing and Promoting Technology Corporation (FPT) to launch a full solution package for web hosting services for small- and medium-sized businesses .

The programme, named Server for US$1, will offer high performance FPT Elead servers powered by a Quad-core Intel processor.

Companies are required to sign a two-year contract to use FPT Telecom’s hosting service at a monthly fee of VND2.5 million ($150), plus a free-of-charge firewall service.

HPT receives HP’s platinum software title

HA NOI — HPT was given HP’s "Platinum Software Partner" title on Thursday, the highest HP accolade granted to a local software company.

The HCM-City based IT firm, said the title will help HPT provide HP’s software and hardware solutions to local clients as well as improve after- sales services.

On the same day, the two companies introduced the BOT (Business Technology Optimisation) solution, which hopes to help local businesses enhance management and productivity.

Samsung eyes 25% share of local market

HA NOI — Samsung has debuted its latest handsets covering every segment of the market with the aim of capturing a 25 per cent share of the market in both Viet Nam and Southeast Asia.

The South Korean electronics giant on Wednesday unveiled 18 models at the Samsung Mobile Roadshow 2008 in Ha Noi, entitled "Imagine mobile phones for every lifestyle"

Based on the company’s new consumer segmentation model, the all-encompassing line-up offers a mobile for every lifestyle with names such as style, multimedia, infotainment, business, connected and essential.

Samsung said the new offerings will help the company double regional handset sales to 200 million units in 2008 equivalent to a 25 per cent market share.

Juniper expands advanced mobile solutions

HA NOI — Juniper Networks announced that it is broadening its mobile solutions portfolio with the addition of an integrated set of new hardware systems and software features for mobile backhaul.
