Viglacera Thanh Tri restart assembly line   2009-05-06 - Sanotc

Vietnam Glass and Ceramic for Construction Corp (Viglacera) officially restarted the production line of Viglacera Thanh Tri Plant yesterday after a four-month halt due to the downturn caused by the world economic crisis and resultant domestic recession.

As one of the leading enterprises in the production field of sanitary wares and construction materials in Vietnam, Viglacera Thanh Tri Plant had to temporarily close the factory at the beginning of 2009 due to difficulties in selling products. However, together with the country's recovery process, the company's total products sold in April only reached about 10 billion dong, equal to that of the whole Q1 year 2009.

At the ceremony, the company signed a sales contract with Viglacera Trading Joint Stock Co. (another subsidiary of Viglacera Corp) to trade and distribute Viglacera Thanh Tri plant's products for the whole year 2009 and announced its participation in the government's social housing programme by supplying its products as sanitary wares and fittings, tiles.
